Maintaining good general health is the key to ensuring you can enjoy your life to the full for as long as possible. Looking after your body and mind by eating well, being active, getting vaccinated and avoiding risky behaviours – like smoking or drinking too much – can prevent many diseases.
But just like you get your car checked every year to make sure it runs smoothly, you should also get a health check once a year so you know what is going on in your body to ensure you stay healthy and well.
How we can help
InstantScripts is Australia’s leading online health clinic. We offer a wellness blood test whichincludes checking your blood count, liver, kidney, electrolytes, thyroid, cholesterol, sugar and iron to ensure your body is operating as it should.
All you need to do is fill out a simple Wellness Test request form. If it is approved by one of our Australian-registered doctors, the pathology form will be emailed to you. You then take this to your nearest pathology collection centre.
Once we receive the results, usually within a few days, we will email them to you. If there is anything abnormal, we will contact you for a follow-up consultation to walk you through the results and help identify recommended treatments. If you receive an abnormal result, you should also see your doctor.
Complete a digital consultation form. If approved by one of our doctors, a pathology form will be sent to you via phone or email.
STEP 2
Take your pathology form to a collection clinic near you.
STEP 3
After your test, your results will be available in our app or via email within 3-7 business days.
What our Wellness Test screens for
Our Wellness Test blood test screens for the following:
Full blood count (FBC): This is a very common test used to evaluate your overall health and detect a wide range of disorders.
Liver function (LFT): This test checks on the function of your liver by looking at the number of proteins and enzymes produced and released by the liver cells.
Electrolytes and kidney function: This tests your kidney function and the level of electrolytes such as sodium, magnesium and calcium in your body.
Thyroid levels: Checks your hormone levels.
Glucose: This test checks your glucose levels as glucose is vital for the proper function and reproduction of your immune cells.
Low density Lipoprotein (LDL): This looks at your cholesterol levels. A high LDL rating could raise your risk of heart attack or stroke.
High density Lipoprotein (HDL): This looks at your cholesterol levels. A high LDL rating could raise your risk of heart attack or stroke.
Cholesterol: A cholesterol (or lipid profile) test looks at the various levels of cholesterol and other fats in the blood.
Triglycerides: A triglycerides test is a blood test that measures the amount of a fat in your blood called triglycerides.
Calcium, magnesium, phosphate: Calcium, magnesium and phosphorus serum levels are regularly performed tests in the emergency department as they identify patients who may need treatment.
Vitamin D: Vitamin D provides resistance to certain diseases. This test is not bulk billable and pathology labs will charge approximately $40, therefore it is an optional test and can be deselected on the form if you prefer.
Iron: Iron is a protein found in red blood cells that helps carry oxygen around the body. A lack of iron can lead to you having too few red blood cells (anaemia).
