Australia’s largest digital healthcare provider InstantScripts, has made a $10,000 donation to the family of Nicholas Tadros, the young survivor of the Gold Coast helicopter crash earlier this year, to assist with ongoing healthcare costs.
Nicholas’ mother Vanessa was killed, along with two other passengers and the helicopter pilot in January 2023. The school boy survived and was placed in an induced coma having sustained extensive injuries.
His recovery is arduous, involving multiple surgeries, a leg amputation and ongoing rehabilitation. Nicholas’ father Simon, now a single parent, is unable to continue work, as he cares for his son.
“This is a family that has endured so much already with the loss of a mother and wife, and now a huge financial burden that accompanies Nicholas’ recovery”, InstantScripts Chief Operating Officer Richard Skimin said. “We hope this donation will help take some of the pressure off them to focus on rebuilding their lives”, he said.
The funds have been donated to The Lions Foundation’s Tadros Family Appeal, and can be utilised for various medical needs, including rehabilitation, in-house checks ups and mental health care.

“We hope our team will be able to assist Simon and Nicholas down the track as their healthcare needs change and look forward to following their journey”, Skimin said.
